Automatic car rental in Belgrade
11 of the 15 cars in our fleet are automatics, from a small hatchback to SUVs and a van. Renting one costs from €27 a day excluding VAT on the longest rentals, and €55 for a single day. Pick it up free at Nikola Tesla Airport or have it delivered to your address in Belgrade.
Who an automatic suits
- Drivers who only drive automatics at home: no getting used to a clutch in a city you don't know.
- Driving around Belgrade: in the queues on the bridges and in the centre your left foot rests, and you can't stall the car.
- Families or anyone with a lot of luggage: the automatics include SUVs (Opel Frontera and Škoda Karoq) and saloons with big boots.
- Longer trips: the hybrids in the fleet switch the engine off when stopping or driving slowly, so they're quiet in town.

Prices are per day, in euros, excluding 20% VAT. The whole rental is charged at the rate for its length; where it says "on request", we quote the price.

If you've never driven an automatic
The selector has four main positions: P for park, R for reverse, N for neutral and D for drive. You move it from P into D or R with your foot on the brake, and you work both pedals with your right foot.
In D the car creeps forward as soon as you lift your foot off the brake, so keep it there in queues and car parks. Before you switch off and get out, put the selector in P. If anything is unclear during the rental, support is available 24/7.
How to find a free automatic
On the vehicles page, choose your dates and tick automatic under "Gearbox". Only cars free on those dates are shown, and each car's calendar gives the price for your number of days before you book.
You book the car or one from the same price class, of the same size and equipment. Automatics get booked up faster in summer and over holidays, so it pays to book early.

How much does an automatic rental car cost in Belgrade?
From €27 a day excluding VAT on the longest rentals (Ford Fiesta / Renault Clio) to €80 for one day in the top class. The calendar on each car's page shows the exact price for your dates.
How much more does an automatic cost than a manual?
In the smallest class, one day costs €50 with a manual gearbox and €55 with an automatic, excluding VAT. The daily difference shrinks the longer you rent.
Do you have an automatic SUV or van?
Yes. Automatic SUVs: Opel Frontera and Škoda Karoq. Van: Opel Zafira, with the price agreed by phone.
Do I need a special licence for an automatic?
No. A category B licence covers automatics. The rule is the same as for every car: a licence issued at least 1 year before pickup, and a minimum age of 21.
Can I pick up an automatic at the airport?
Yes. Pickup and return at Nikola Tesla Airport are free for every car. You pay for the rental at pickup, by card or in cash.
